Bibliosphere

A lightweight library system for managing your catalog, members, and book loans, right from one computer.

The problem

Small libraries, in churches, schools, or communities, often track books and loans in a notebook or a spreadsheet. It’s hard to know which books are out, who has them, and when they’re due back.

What it does

  • A book catalog you can add to, edit, and search by title, author, or ISBN.
  • Several copies of one title, each with its own status.
  • Member accounts, created by the librarian.
  • Checkouts and returns, with due dates.
  • Members can search the catalog and see their own loans.
  • Sign-in with librarian and member roles.

Who it’s for

  • Churches For small church teams who want to work together more easily.
  • Communities For groups, associations, and small organizations.

How to use it

Run it yourself

Bibliosphere is a desktop app. It runs on one computer and keeps its data on that computer, with no server and no internet connection needed. Free. Instructions for running it are in the repository.

We run it for you

Because it runs on your own computer, Bibliosphere doesn’t need a version run by us.
