A community built together
Our name comes from the word fellow: a friend, a companion on the way. Brightfellow is a community of people who build and look after simple tools for communities and small organizations.
Why this community exists
Many small communities run their routine work through files sent back and forth in chats. The tools that exist are often too complicated, too expensive, or keep data somewhere they don’t control.
We want to build tools that are simple, open, and can be run on your own, together with the people who use them. Every tool is built in the open, and every piece of feedback helps shape it.
This community is just getting started and is currently led by its founder. That means the people who join now help set its direction from the beginning.
Ways to take part
You don’t need to write code. Pick whatever suits you.
Use a tool and share feedback
Try one of our tools, then tell us what helped and what was confusing. Feedback from everyday users is the most valuable kind.
Report a problem
Found something that doesn’t work? Tell us what you did, what you expected, and what happened.
No GitHub account? Just send an email.
Suggest a feature
Tell us which work you’d like to make easier. Start from the problem, not the solution.

Help translate
The tools and this site are made in Indonesian and English. Help us make both read naturally, not like machine translation.
Test new versions
Try new versions before they are released to everyone, then tell us if anything seems off.
Contribute code
All our code is on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. Pick an issue, discuss your plan, then send a pull request.
Contribution guidelines
- Start with an issue. Write down what you’d like to change and why first, so no work is done twice.
- Keep changes small and focused: one thing per pull request.
- Explain how to test your change.
- By sending a contribution, you agree that it is licensed under Apache-2.0, the same as the project.
- Be kind and patient. We are all learning.
